Chromalox Precision Heat and Control
Chromalox
having its company headquarters in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania
is the pioneer and world leader in the manufacturing of electric
heating products and temperature control systems. Chromalox
asked 2N2 to 3D model and rapid prototype a variety of new
products for the commercial and industrial heat trace market.
Many of the products were already designed in 2D with the
exception of proper plastic design practices such as wall
thickness and radiuses for sharp corners. Materials were of
concern since they had to withstand high temperatures. These
new product ideas allowed Chromalox to mount a power connection
box off of pipe, hence some of the names of their products:
Pipe stand-off, Compression fitting, End cap, Pipe adapter,
etc…. 2N2 completed the 3D modeling, new 2D drawings
and SLA rapid prototyping within the timeframe requested.
